Alicia Montañés Santoyo

Alicia is a practising lawyer as from 1981, currently member of Valencia Bar Association with membership number 2.950.
She initiated her professional career in Garcia - Gomez Law firm in Valencia and Fuster Cuerda Law firm in Palma de Mallorca.
In 1990 joined Muñoz Burguet as expertise in International Trade and Shipping Law and became partner of the firm in 1996 when renamed as Muñoz & Montañés Abogados.
Lecturer at Universidad Jaume I de Castellon in LL.M. in Maritime Law.
Her professional career develops in the areas of commerce and shipping law, providing legal advice and litigation throughout all Spain. Alicia intervenes on contractual and out of Court matters as well as in litigation in civil, administrative and criminal cases.
She has also expertise on inheritance law and real estate investments in Spain advising foreign clients.
Alicia has broad experience in environmental law, in those aspects which affect transport and logistics companies, and in marine and coastal pollution cases from vessels.
She has been involved in maritime casualties such as collisions (i.e. M/V New Flame -Tom Gertrude; M/V Cala Ponente - Pesca Calpe IV; M/V New Glory - Millenium II; M/V MSC Eloise - Ciudad de Benicarlo) and groundings (i.e. M/V Tawe, M/V Rhea, M/V Celia, M/V BSLE Sunrise) and other casualties.
Alicia is member of the board of the Commercial Law Section of Valencia Bar Association and member of Women's International Shipping & Trading Association (WISTA).
